2010 Bihar assembly elections: A new national beginning

All the results are yet to come –
Fatafat reaction –
Lessons –
(1) People don’t follow the “contractors” of the votes of the society any more – even Bhumihars have not voted with the respect/ ego/ will or wish of few people who tried to oppose Nitish Kumar/ NDA for their personal reasons – or that was shrewd political game whatever
(2) Time of “dabang”, “bahubali” and “Mahabali” is over – those who keep their feet on ground will be backed by the people.
(3) No one can dominate any one any more
(4) Its democracy – respect each and every person in the mass.
(5) No need to say – caste and religion has been dumped – even yadavs and muslims have voted for Nitish.

Statement of Mr. Sharad Yadav was very heartening – it shows thje maturity of Indian politics
(1) When asked about first issue at hand after the win - The win has given the challenge of responsibilities
(2) When asked a leading question - No cheap/ easy comment regarding the detractors of the party – as predicted by me – people like Lalan Singh were just “moves” in the game (like not inviting Mr. Narendra Modi for campaign) - no action planned against them “still”!
Statement of Nitish Kumar was still clear –
(1) “NDA” getting huge majority - Win of the people – not of NDA or his party
(2) I am a hard worker and will work hard
(3) Its big challenge – work has been initiated – lot needs to be done
(4) It has been proved decisively – only work needs to be done – no more rhetoric
(5) Its national experiment – whether votes are given only on work
(6) People did not want to see the message written on the wall – because they were afraid of that!
(7) Bihar is not going to go “back”
(8) I will concentrate for Bihar
(9) Detractors have no meaning – “na kahoo se dosti na kahoo se bair”!
(10) BATAI DAARI KANNON WAS NOT AT ALL AN ISSUE!
(11) Governance and employment are permanent issues
(12) I need blessing to work and keep myself away from “ghamand” (in my opinion ghamand and or ego are not equal to ghamand)
(13) Walked away smilingly when asked about Narendra Modi coming to his oath ceremony

My conclusion – most likely “for now” he is the man Bihar needed and he is a shrewd man as well!
My suggestion/ plan –
(1) Left out infrastructure make over should be rapidly completed and should be a continuous phenomenon
(2) Areas like education (including coachings), tourism, and agriculture should be priority in next 5 years
(3) Flood should get some permanent solution – it’s possible
(4) Aim at “excellence” in every walk of life with or without direct or indirect government support - government should recognise and encourage all of them
