2010 Bihar assembly elections for Bhumihars: Cool down!

All the results are yet to come – but trends and results are obvious
Fatafat reaction –
Lessons –
(1) People don’t follow the “contractors” of the votes of the society any more – even Bhumihars have not voted with the respect/ ego/ will or wish of few people who tried to oppose Nitish Kumar/ NDA for their personal reasons – or that was just a shrewd political – better face saving posture - whatever
(2) Time of “dabang”, “bahubali” and “Mahabali” is over – those who keep their feet on ground will be backed by the people
(3) No one can dominate any one any more – you have quality you will be respected
(4) Its democracy – respect each and every person in the mass.
(5) “logon” kaa khyaal karo – booth kaa nahin
Statement of Mr. Sharad Yadav was very heartening –
(1) When asked about first issue at hand after the win - The win has given the challenge of responsibilities – plan to fulfil that
(2) When asked a leading question - No cheap/ easy comment regarding the detractors of the party – as predicted by me – people like Lalan Singh were just “moves” in the game (like not inviting Mr. Narendra Modi for campaign) - no action planned against them “still”!
Statement of Nitish Kumar was still clear –
(1) “NDA” getting huge majority - Win of the people – not of NDA or his party
(2) I am a hard worker and will work hard
(3) Its big challenge – work has been initiated – lot needs to be done
(4) It has been proved decisively – only work needs to be done – no more rhetoric
(5) Its national experiment – whether votes are given only on work
(6) People did not want to see the message written on the wall – because they were afraid of that!
(7) Bihar is not going to go “back”
(8) I will concentrate for Bihar
(9) Detractors have no meaning – “na kahoo se dosti na kahoo se bair”!
(10) BATAI DAARI KANNON WAS NOT AT ALL AN ISSUE!
(11) Governance and employment are permanent issues
(12) Even today I need/ expect co – operation and positive contribution from opposition – number is not important, spirit is important
(13) I need blessing to work and keep myself away from “ghamand” (in my opinion ghamand and or ego are not equal to ghamand)
(14) Walked away smilingly when asked about Narendra Modi coming to his oath ceremony
My conclusion – most likely “for now” he is the man Bihar needed and he is a shrewd man as well!

My suggestion/ plan/ Conclusion –
(1) Make “companies”, “trust” to manage lands – to escape land ceiling act/ Bataee Daaree kanoon – today or tomorrow it has to happen – even otherwise
(2) Aim at “excellence” in every walk of life with or without direct or indirect government help
(3) Nothing worse can happen with Bhumihars -in comparision to what Laloo has done for 20 years!

2010 Bihar assembly elections: A new national beginning

All the results are yet to come –

(4) Its democracy – respect each and every person in the mass.
(5) No need to say – caste and religion has been dumped – even yadavs and muslims have voted for Nitish.

Statement of Mr. Sharad Yadav was very heartening – it shows thje maturity of Indian politics
(1) When asked about first issue at hand after the win - The win has given the challenge of responsibilities
(2) When asked a leading question - No cheap/ easy comment regarding the detractors of the party – as predicted by me – people like Lalan Singh were just “moves” in the game (like not inviting Mr. Narendra Modi for campaign) - no action planned against them “still”!

My suggestion/ plan –
(1) Left out infrastructure make over should be rapidly completed and should be a continuous phenomenon
(2) Areas like education (including coachings), tourism, and agriculture should be priority in next 5 years
(3) Flood should get some permanent solution – it’s possible
(4) Aim at “excellence” in every walk of life with or without direct or indirect government support - government should recognise and encourage all of them

Comptroller and Auditor General cautioned?

Though in most of the news on net it is in an inhibited manner, the Times of India at Chennai has written that Karunanidhi is impressed by the "fearless" report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)!
http://www.indianexpress.com/news/heat-on-karunanidhi-skips-cag-function-goes-to-resort/712316/
http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/karunanidhi-cag-should-evaluate-not-only-process-but-outcome-66685
http://news.webindia123.com/news/articles/India/20101117/1632215.html

That he is not happy with the organisation was obvious by his avoiding the meeting. Though 16th November 2010 was a sexy day with raining . . . we know our chiefminister well . . . even I would have liked to go out and have few pegs . . . preferably with some white sexy . . . But I thought few people in society are special and dont have moral right to have a personal life at all! Well I could not go out yesterday because a neurosurgeon's job increases when other people go out and drink and drive!
Coming back to the statement of the beloved chiefminister who conveyed his message thorough his son, I want to know, is the CAG a post to be afraid of anything in this world! You mean our CAG should be afraid? I just cant understand the perception of these politicians about different pillars of the establishment. Some one will tell tomorrow thanks to supreme court judge for being fearless?
Then what will that mean?

Is it not the responsibility of the establishment to assure the "fearlessness" of the different institutions of the establishment?

And if so, they need thank?
If so, whats their basic job? What for do they exist? If CAG is ot fearless in this regimen what about you and me?

I know politics in present times is mostly run by gundas. During Chiefministership of Jayalalitha, people used to be afraid of the autorickshaw sound - they were the hallmark of the political attack. In present regimen, its silent! People will will come and kill you and go! Even on the road! And even the minister of this government will be a silent spectater to make it sure that you die! I hope you all remember the incident of killing of a police inspector (with the photo of MGR on his bike!) in presence of a cabinet minister of Karunanidhi!

I think CAG should not be afraid - its such a post. If Karunanidhi feels that the power comes with responsiblity and wants the CAG to remember, he should also remember that the person also knows that the insecurity comes free as a gift with the post specialyu if people like Stalin are the boss! And its their responsibility to assure the fearlessness of the CAG!

I hope people of this country will note it.

Discussion on corruption and unemployment

In USA due to the economic slack, unemployment has risen to 9.4% and so there is big hue and cry! We have the same rate for years! But we are cool!

Why?

Expectatioon from life and way of life is more important than statistics and the paper called degree.
Even if we discuss things, what is the result? We waste days and months discussing corruption, I feel just brainless about those discussions. And that creats disinterest!
And what do you discuss? When currency notes were waved in parliament, one news channel claimed that it had video record of movement of the group of the parliamentarians starting from the beginning! What happened to that? Was the channel auctioned? Or the journalist who had dared sold himself? Or was he sacked? Or was he killed? Why was that not disclosed? What is happeneing now to Raja and Kalmadi? And all these just creat mistrust or loss of trust and interest to the system of "discussion".

I have heard leftists concern about unemployment since childhood. They were in power also; few years at centre and are in power in few states regularly, any difference? Dont say that Kerala has lesser %, stop people from migration and you will know. And west Bengal, ask the people who are the real sufferes for last 35 years or wait for few months, you will know.
On the ground, in my village, if some one does not get job, he "adjusts" with others and others "adjust" with him . . . . and life goes on! Its our national habit! If we have to adjust, or if we can adjust, why to discuss? And waste our time!

Is it not friends?

Father of Polypathy and great cardiologist Dr Shreenivas dies at 91

Noted cardiologist Dr S Shreenivas died in the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday (09- 11- 2010/ 10- 11- 2010) in Heart Hospital, Kankarbagh, Patna, Bihar. He was 91 and was in the hospital for about a month. He left behind his wife Kishori Sinha, two sons and a daughter.

Being close to my inlaws, being a doctor's family, we used get inspired by him. We had one chance to see him in 2007. I cant imagine people of his stature in Bihar at least in near future. Not in vision at present at least! The rational thought, the clear vision . . . . In addition to professional excellence!
His last rites was performed at Manikarnika Ghat in Benaras on Tuesday.
Dr Shreenivas was sent to the United States in 1948 to study cardiology on the recommendation of Dr S M Ghoushal.
There he studied in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and also got an opportunity to take training from Dr Paul Dudle White, a world famous Cardiologist and Professor at Harvard University. The only other trainee Cardiologist from India, who had worked with Dr White at that time, was Dr Padmawati. He also studied under Dr Frank N Wilson, Father of modern Electro-Cardiography.
In 1952 he returned to India and set up Hospital for Cardio-vascular diseases. In 1971 he became the founder-director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology and served on that post till 1976. He brought with him the first Cardiology (ECG) machine to India.
Born at Garsisai village, near Dalsinghsarai in samastipur his mother was from Birsinghpur village in Samastipur from a family of landlord. He got his degree from Prince of Wales Medical College Hospital now called Patna Medical College and Hospital and for further study went to England, US and Sweden.
In 1977 he along with Dr B Bhattacharya, noted Homeopath and some Ayurveds initiated the concept of Polypathy having under one roof all the modalities of treatment be it Allopathy, Homeopathy, Unani, Ayurved, Yoga, Tibbi, Naturopathy, Acupuncture etc. There are 151 ways of treatment which come under Polypathy. In 1997 he organized a Polypathy Conference. Later it was held in Kathmandu, Madrid and Milan.
Prominent doctors of Patna such as Dr S N Mishra, Dr U C Samal, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dr Gopal Prasad Singh, Dr Basant Singh, Dr Shahjanand, Dr Vijay Prakash etc condoled his death. A condolence meeting was held in the Zakir Husain Institute, Patna on Tuesday.
He left behind two sons and a daughter. He named his eldest son as Bhairav Usman Priyadarshi. He was named so after Brigadier Usman, who laid down his life in the 1948 Indo-Pak War. The second son was named (Dr) Tandaw Einstein Samdarshi––obviously after the renowned scientist––and daughter Yashodhara Thakur.
. . . And probably, in this era of religious fundamentalism (banskruptcy rather), castism and regionalism, his and his son's name are misfit, thats why they were not making rounds and rounds in the socio- political sphere! According to one of close relatives - "buddha jhakki thaa"!

He also adopted a Dalit girl, which reflected the true side of his personality.

How many us can do it even today? Or is there any so callet dalit to note it around.

His multi-faceted personality can be gauged from the fact that in 1993 he represented India in Chicago at the Second World Conference of Parliament of Religions. The first such conference was addressed by Swami Vivekanand exactly a century ago.

The sadest part is, inspite of good start, Bihar could never capituale on the great beginnings. Some one who came 30 years later is now the owner of the laregst corporate hospital not only in this country, in Asia!

I bow my head in his memory and pray god to give peace to his soul.

Politics as a carrier in India for new comers

You have only two ways - either join congress, then you have to be a psychophant for life. You may have excellent growth but truncated (after a certain level you will be blocked for ever). Or, join any other party, be yourself but your growth will remain retarded for ever!

But before that, who is a new comer - those who dont have any close (first degree) relative in politics.

Why Nitish Kumar may lose? And if not, What will happen to India?

Nitish Kumar has done the best for Bihar in the given situation. But in democracy counting matters. And so is calculation. To begin with, see the calculation - 24th November counting is there and 25th November is the last day for the previous assembly! So, if by chance, Nitish is even few seats away from majority which can be managed with independents or so . . . central government will not allow him to do so by imposing president/ governor rule and how bad that can be, we have seen in Karnataka just few days ago.

Now after all the good work, Nitish has failed in this type of calculated move. After all Bihar is the most backward state of this country. Even states like Tamilnadu (leave alone Uttar Pradesh) do have caste equations balancing the politics. Specialy when there is no economic activity, social and emotional factors only remain there to influence the voting pattern. How will the importance of caste be reduced within 5 years in a state which has not seen development for last 40 years?

Nitish failed to understand that Yadav- Muslim combine of Laloo will not get dented in any condition, whatever olive branch he shows to Muslims. But the forward castes, who are very vibrant and concerned about whatever little they posses (the land) and their past (prestige) and have been the backbone of Nitish vote bank, will easily at least lose interest in him if not go against him if they are not in good humour. And thats what exactly Nitish created in the years after 2008. One after another starting from ignoring Lalan Singh, Batai Daari kanoon, insulting Narendra Modi, catalysing break of super 30 . . . thinking that these will make other castes/ groups/ religi0us groups happy . . . he made mistakes which ruined his party. It also effected his government performance in fact. The co- operation of the administrators (dominated by the upper caste) was missing after 2008. The result is that a large chunk of forward votes if not all or the majority, has either shifted towards other parties or they are least interested in continuation of his government because they have not found it so beneficial. The option of Laloo and Nitish sounded equaly good! Muslim - Yadav combine (making almost 40% in Bihar) is almost intact favoring Laloo! Nitish cant do anything with 2% of his own caste. Other caste people have little political entity . . . but at least this time when some one has played their card, they should come out in formidable number to keep nitish's party going! Will that happen?

Still one thing is sure that Laloo Prasad will not get majority even with the help of Rambilas Paswaan. But in case of a hung assembly (which is the only other possibility other than Nitish getting clear majority), congress will play the spoil sport. And what have they done? Last 30 years they have laughed at Bihar's cost and last 20 years they have only helped Laloo Prasad to laugh at the cost of Biharis. Because their central leadership doesn't want state congress leaders to come up. Even this time congress replaced the state chief Anil Sharma (a good potential leader) by a Muslim. Now we are yet to see how many muslims turn towards congress and my one time favourite a doctor turned politician and the scheduled caste face of the Bihar youth congress will come back to assembly from changed constituency or not!

In case of a hung assembly, by bargaining, if congress could put its government and make Laloo and Rambilas minister in centre - it will be a good fate for Bihar and Biahris. If it supports Laloo . . . That will spell a doom!

If after all this Nitish could manage a come back which I wish and most of the netizens believe but they never go out to vote, it will spell a big change in Indian politics. Dont forget that Bihar is the mother of Indian politics. Not only it has given birth to Gandhi, it has given birth to Rajendra Prasad, Jaya Prakash and . . . Mandal as well. And next in the series of earlier two will be Nitish Kumar! And the result will be permanent defeat of castism in this country. Second and more important and significant change will be in the economy of this country. Mind it whatever growth rate India is having is minus UP and Bihar! If these two states start growing with rate even 5%, whole India will have a growth rate more than 11%!

Indian Civil Life

I have not seen lives in other countries, but I do have some simple middle class expectations. I believe these expectations have come up because of the criticism which we read on day today basis in our news papers and other media.
While walking on the road we expect at least proper road and traffic sense of the people if not safety from every thing like outlawed or rogues. Though we pray god not to need people like doctors, police, lawyers . . . politicians . . . but if at all the need arise, we expect them to treat us atleast as human beings! But the fact is that you come out of your house and you are bound to have some or other bad experience at the hands of one or other among the above mentioned people. few additions might be there but in a nut shell they are two types of people (1) professionals like doctors, lawyers or people associated with these professionals and (2) administrators or those who are associated with the establishment. One is the skilled and qualified group and other the powerfull group.
I have come across very few people who did not have complaints against these two group of people.
Why is it so?
Because we feel we are special people!
We are above the mass!
We are not simple human beings!
So, we dont treat others as human beings!
Is the situation same in other countries?
I dont know, but I expect our society to consider the situation.
I feel in India the situation is bad because long we have been ruled by people who did not have respect for the common mass and only special people among us used to get human treatment. Our administrators find it difficult to administer because rustic attitude of the people and people are fed up with the administrators who behave with the masses like slaves! Like worms! And the professional group, educated middle class is too happy with himself to consider others as human beings! But only when it comes to them individualy, they feel that the society is "ill mannered"!

The IAS says that the doctors are cheats! The doctor says that the police is a nuiance! The polic officer says that engineers are corrupt! The engineer says the the politician is ruthless! And every one says that this country is a shit!
