"Public Hai Sab Janati Hai", common people know everything!- about nanavati commision on Godhara

I realy wonder what is the aim of these commisions? To give job to the unemployed retired judges, to bring out the truth, or to confuse the masses? I did not suspect that politicians try to strengthen their opinion by appointing commisions, as that fact is a non controversial issue.
To give jobs to the high profile judges, it has been a noble idea; as most of the enquiries last long . . . .realy long. ..... very long. Two most important criterias to finish the enquiry- arrival of next important election or cooling of the issue. So it serves the purpose of jobs to the judges very well. Some times even after death of the presiding judge the enquiry is not completed! What a sucessful life span of the judge! But if the aim of the commisions is the other two- its just wastage of the intelligentia in our judges! The reason is that Indian people know enough truth . . . .more than at least those in any short of power! Commisions may enlighten their other part of genral awareness but they don't change their ideas and they need not to because of some judge siting in some office some where! But if the aim is to confuse the maasses, our politicians are poor people to whom I have full sympathy as they have failed measurably in that at least in my knowledge! In case of Nanavati or Banerjee commision, people know all in and out! People know how and why a moving train will catch fire only in two boggies spontaneously? People also know who were involved in the conspiracy if at all it existed? whether it was the government or the muslim group! People also know how the riot spreaded. As every one knows what was the fate of the BJP government before Modi came to Ahmedabad from New Delhi and what happened in the elections after the riot! Not that I am jealous that Modi became strong after elections, I am worried that people specialy judges ignore that Modi knew how to become strong. But bigger question is what is the use of discusing it at this moment?

Regional devide in India

Regional divide in India
Hating the fellow beings is nature of the living world but its absence marks humanity. Dog barks on dogs, tree does not allow sun and water to other tree but humanity spells the difference! More you come out of it more human you are.
India and the concept of Indian nation throbs the best in the hearts of the people in the Hindi heartland. Last few decades after computer magic and decline in the control over the national affair by the congress party in general and the Nehru- Gandhi family in particular has made people in the Hindi heartland a second grade citizen. But things will not remain so as at last India lives in its villages and now villages are remaining only in the Hindi heartland! (Joking but turn around will happen) its not long that politicians will have to pay attention.

Floods in Bihar

Floods in Bihar have been a perennial problem. Even in the best controlled years from 1970 to 1990, when the hard work of earlier people was showing the effect, part of Bihar like districts of Drabhanga and Sahrsa used to be flooded. The reason is the perennial rivers coming directly from Himalayan ranges which swell during rainy season. On top of that there have been decades of corruption and ignorance which is now showing the effect. The fact is that for last many decades no maintenance work has been done effectively. Superadded to that is the increased rainfall due to global warming. Only after that we should blame the "kamala Maiya" (that’s how Koshi - the respected – due to fear-river of Bihar is called in the region- like ganga). Koshi is known to change its course from the time of known human history. basicaly the whole region is a low land. Last more than 60 years Koshi did not change its course. Due to barrage in the Nepal area continued to Indian Territory. Now we have a hostile government in Nepal. The Nepal PM says that the koshi pact was the biggest fault! So, present "Pralya" in Bihar should be seen in totality. Not with patial vision.
To solve the problem first thing should be that our politicians should honest. Then they should have conviction to solve the problem. The fact is that all the top politicians from Bihar are from Bhojpuri speaking area where flood is not a problem. Leaders in Mithila which is affected with flood keep licking the foot of these people so that they can eat the relief money without problem!
Given the difficult situation of lively hood, migration is unavoidable from Mithila region. Given the insult and poor response even in their own state (people in Bhojpuri speaking area don’t look at them with any different attitude than ones in Mumbai), people from there are going to be hard to be pacified. At least I wish so. I am sure very few people will have courage to go in the area after seeing the devastation of flood. But there are people who make their huts every year braving the nature and ignorance and resistance of their fellow citizens! Who can match their tolerance, persistence and bravery? And if these people come out will there be any one who can defeat them? Those who are braving the nature, if they come out of the region, who can face them? Can some one match their courage and patience? And what else do you need to rule the world? The effect will be seen though it will take few more decades.

Are we insensitive to the terror attacks?

its about the discussion going to happen tonight on NDTV- "whether we have become insensitive to terror attacks"?
What do you want people to do to show their sensibility? Today morning i called my boss and started the discussion, he stopeed me in the middle- "the country is bound to go down. useless to discuss these things. just take care of your personal belongings . . . .by not going to the crowded places and keeping an eye on things around you". It effected me so much so that when my inlaws called me from a new number, i was to inform the police but good sense prevailed in time and i called my inlaws on known number and confirmed that it was their number!
In my opinion, Indian subcontinent have been ruled by inefficient, ignorant and irresponsible people immediately after downfall of ASHOKA. If human civilisation still exists there, its because of care which we take as an individual and we tolerate as a human being. People in Indian society do respond, in slow but decisive manner. they have toppled the rulers, governments even religions . . . . . .people are not insensitive, they are just waiting and weighing the options.
Dr. Manish

is scraping of POTA responsible for terror attacks?

i think more than the legislation, its commitment of the adminstrators and security personals, rulers (politicians) and at last but not the least, the juducuary, which is more important. i think adminstrators and security personnels in our country are ignorant and incapable, politicians are insensible and on top of all, we all are corrupt. only then the role of judiciary comes where a legislation comes to play a role. If police and intelligence people want, they can arrest any one on petty grounds. even by existing rules.

Communication with a patient

Respected Dr. i m suffering from back pain since 4 months. Actually, the Disc below L5 has slipped out & causing mild compression of S1 root (from MRI Test). Neuro & orthopaedic surgeons are telling that surgery is only the solution. Kindly suggest some alternate.Thanks.
My Reply
Do u have leg pain as well? If its only back ache, surgery may not be helpful .. . .
Please send me the MRI pictures, I can tell you better .. . . . . If surgery is necessary, its the simplest thing we as a neurosurgeon can do. Please come over to Chennai I can see and advice you in detail . .. . I can finish the surgery (if at all necessary) for just may be 25, 000 Rs.
Well my brother in law is at aligarh . . . .if want any help.

communication with a patient's relative

Hi, My friends son aged about 2.5 years is suffering from Pilocytic Astrocytoma in the brain stem. The MRI scan report gives the following conclusion-1. Large expansile lesion in mescancephalon involving tectum with cystic and solid components extending to cerebral pedencle with patchy enhancement.2. The above features are consistent with tectal plate pilocytic astrocytoma.Doctor from Apollo Chennai has given time of 1 year or max 1.5 years. They said that it lies in very critical position where surgery is not possible. The kid is normal without showing any symptom of brain tumor, only the problem lies with the usage of left hand and leg. He uses very rare to hold articles and try to use only his right hand always. Please let me know any info/advice on this or is there any alternate treatment.
My Reply
I was trained at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai only, tell me the consultant who saw the baby.Yes if its Pilocytic astrocytoma . . . . . . even if the baby survives longer- the fact is, its not going to be longer than few years . . . . . in the best case may be maximum of 5 years- may be 6 . . . .if treated with all possible surgery/ medications (which will cost few lakhs and will leave the baby weak on one side which already is there). In our country most of us are not in a situation of investing like that for sure no return! Untill u have insurance (which most of us don't). Fact is that its not worth treating. Still, if you are ready to put few lakhs just like that- for your satisfaction . . . .if u r a millionarie- surgery . . . . radiation . . . . .may be even few medications . . . . . .may be tried. And yes, if u believe in magic, thats is also possible as TB is like our national disease . . . . after all said . . . after surgery the pathology report may through a surprise . . . . . and the doctor may say you grinning that it was an infection . . . . .. . Please keep the baby happy and wish no one else gets the disease.
